Ian plays the Same character in all his verses on the show he plays the ‘bad boy’ as for Paul he’s played Human-Stefan, Ripper/Sired-Stefan,Vampire-Stefan, lets not forget he also played Silas. I mean Ian has that eye bugle thing but i’m pretty sure that’s more for scaring the daylights out of small children.
